Landscape architecture firm James Corner Field Operations — whose impressive portfolio includes New York City’s High Line and Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, in London — has won the commission to redesign Minneapolis’ Nicollet Mall, reports The Architect’s Newspaper.
Corner tells TAN that Field Operations’ design, which seeks to balance the city’s goal of a place for live, work, and play, connects “two epicenters of ‘nature and culture': the Mississippi riverfront at the street’s northeast terminus, and the Chain of Lakes beginning at its southwest.”
